New Hockey Parents
Welcome to Mason City Youth Hockey! Whether your child is already enrolled in a Learn to Skate or Learn to Play program, or you are still exploring the sport, MCYH hopes this website serves as a helpful starting point for your family’s youth hockey journey. Being a hockey parent is a rewarding experience, especially as you watch your child grow, develop skills, and build confidence both on and off the ice. We know there can be a lot to learn along the way, so in addition to the information provided here, please do not hesitate to reach out to a Mason City Youth Hockey board member, coach, or team representative with any questions.

USA HOCKEY SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Starting August 1st, 2024, USA Hockey will require neck laceration protectors (NLPs), also known as neck guards, for all players and on-ice officials under 18 in games and practices. This includes players in YOUTH, GIRLS, and JUNIOR AGE classifications but not ADULTS. USA Hockey STRONGLY recommends that adult players also wear NLPs.
